That should be enough. I have 2 x HD3000 recording OTA simultaneously
to a pair of SATA drives (LVM), and haven't experienced any problems.

Maybe it's the combination of DVB and IVTV? What if you temporarily
disable the IVTV stuff, take an HD3000 recording, and do something
else (build a linux kernel or something), and see if you have the same
problems? And repeat with only IVTV without the HD3000?
