[mythtv-users] Mythtv system lock up when watch tv chosen

I have tried to fix my problem for more than a week now and seem to be
making no progress.  I have a new home built pc with fc4 installed.
Followed the directions (best I can tell) at http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/.
All seems to work reasonably well with the backend and the front-end.  I can
watch tv with a fc4 viewer "TVtime television viewer".  I can change
channels and the sound is being fed back into the onboard sound ok.  I have
the program guide downloaded it is working fine.  I have scheduled and
recorded several shows, and they seem to show up fine with animated
thumbnails.  The problem comes when I try to view live tv or watch one of
the programs that I have recorded.  When one of the options is chosen the
system locks up and the screen goes blank.  The only solution is to reboot.
I have changed tv and video card configurations to no avail.  Using a
terminal window I was able to log some Mythtv front-end info.  This line
repeats over and over until the system is rebooted: "Timed out waiting for
free video buffers".

Hardware:
AMD 64 +3200
1Gig ram
Hauppauge WinTV pci card (old one)
AGP NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX

Side note:  I installed knopmyth and had the system working at one point
with the same hardware.  Maybe i will have to go back to the easy way?
