[mythtv-users] Transcode Question

myth .18
hauppauge 250pvr
automatic install

so its debian sarge

I have a dozen or so recordings all are the .nuv.  When I play the
recordings they are commercial flagged because I can press "z" and
skip all the commercials.  they are taking up a large amound of space.
 I have tried whiled in the media library hitting the right arrow and
selecting "Begin Transcoding"  it seems to finish I only say that
because for a while that same option becomes "Stop Transcoding".
However it doesn't seem to do anything.  There is a directory
/mythtv/pretty but in that dir is all of my recorded shows in .mpg but
they are just symlinks to the .nuv, not actual files.  I am sure I am
missing something any ideas?
