[mythtv-users] What email client are you using?

that's what I do in Thunderbird: either "Flag" the top msg in the
thread, or I mark it as "Important" (or whatever). When replies come in,
I know that that msg was "important" and I read the replies. If there
are any replies that are important to me, than I mark them too.

Later, I'll know which thread -- and it's replies -- were important and
might have information that is relevant to my needs.
Sometimes I copy the important msg and replies to a subfolder under a
heading -- like "nuvexport" or "pchdtv3000" or "nvidia" etc.

Doesn't GMail have a privacy issue? (course, i guess that doesn't matter
if you are just keeping public Mailing list msgs)
