I'm using Thunderbird, with gmail as my base of operations for
mythtv-users. I grab the gmail using pop on thunderbird, and then auto
archive it over on the gmail site. Only log into gmail website directly
to admin stuff. In thunderbird I have two rules. One grabs all
mythtv-users and sends them to a mythtv-users folder. The other rule
grabs anything with my name in the body and sends it to a my threads
folder. ....I only recently started doing this, because I've been
absolutely terrible at getting back to threads I'm involved in in a
timely manner. Feeling guilty about it I've got that set up now so if
someone replies to me directly I can at least see it right away. I
don't use the thread view for myself because it there are so many
threads that if one gets updated it is so far down the list I might not
even notice. My rules set up of course don't do anything that you're
asking, which is grab the whole thread if you got involved in just a
part of it. I would say there must be some kind of way to make
something that checks out the subject line of the emails you respond to,
and then autogenerate a rule that says grab all the emails with that
subject line. That would get you the whole thread. If anyone can do
it, much kudos.
