I use Thunderbird, and put threads in chronological order, then all you 
do is use the 'n' key and it skips to the next new message in the 
thread, then to the next new message in the next thread when the current 
one is all read.  Just perfect for reading what has been posted since I 
last downloaded email from my ISP.
