[mythtv-users] Live TV image incorrectly positioned

Hi,

I am using 0.19 and am very happy. However, I have one small niggle that I
cannot seem to resolve on my own. My mythbox is connected via VGA to a 40"
Samsung LCD TV. The signal is provided by a Motorola DVi5000 digital cable
decoder into a PVR350. The STB is set to output signals for a 16:9 TV.

4:3 broadcasts are output on the S-Video connector from the STB with
vertical black bars at the sides. (i.e. narrower than a normal 4:3 image.)
16:9 (anamorphic) broadcasts fill the entire area normally filled by the 4:3
signal.

With the aspect ratio in mythtv set to 16:9 this means that 4:3 images are
displayed correctly (i.e. stretched back to their correct horizonal
dimensions) and 16:9 anamorphic broadcasts are stretched to fill the entire
screen.

My problem with this setup is that the 16:9 picture is not being completely
stretched to fill the screen area. There is a thick black bar (around 100px)
on the right side of the screen that is unused. 4:3 broadcasts are shown
correctly, but also offset to the left.

Is it possible to move the LiveTV image? The "overscan" settings do not
help. How have other people dealt with this situation? Is it a case of
setting the STB to output a 4:3 signal and then manually adjusting the
aspect ratio for widescreen shows?

Thanks for any advice and tips,
/micahel
