capture/playback MythTV configuration are pretty steep. Can anyone
say approximately how would this break down on requirements for a
separate playback frontend and capture backend, rather than all in
one?

Capture Cards:

I like that the pcHDTV-3000 and DViCO FusionHDTV Lite 5 reportedly do
ATSC, QAM, and NTSC. Is anyone aware of any compelling differences
from a usability perspective? Do they both work well? Similar
ease/challenges with configuration? Would you be indifferent?

Should there be no trouble with just stereo sound for the HDTV
broadcasts? My audio receiver does not support digital audio inputs.=20
While I'm on the subject, is there any way to throw out the extra
audio channels during or after capture, to save disk space?

Misc:

Is there any major to reason to wait a month before getting an HD
capture card or any of the hardware I'll be needing for the frontend?

Thank you for any suggestions,
~ Daniel
