I mailed him, but my mail was bounced as spam :(

I switched from ext3 to xfs for my recordings some months ago because deleting 
recordings was slow on ext3.  Each time the frontend locked up for a few 
seconds untill the file was gone.  I never had a problem after switching to 
xfs.
