And of course, if in the future you need to install anything else from 
source and need the kernel source, most likely it is already in your 
/usr/src directory, just tar.gz-ed up.  Just extract them and then 
probably you need to ln /usr/src/linux or similar to the exact directory 
that got created when you unzipped the source.  If you don't have the 
tar.gz file either you can install a package, something like 
linux-kernel-headers or kernel-devel etc. etc. using your distro's 
packaging program.
