[mythtv-users] Upcoming recordings was blank, then I scheduled a new recording... and that filled up the upcoming recordings list again

Sounds exactly like MythTV 0.19 with MySQL 5.  You should use MythTV 
0.19-fixes, instead.  It includes a fix for a change to MySQL that 
caused the scheduler to lose its connections to the DB.
