[mythtv-users] Kubuntu mythtv-setup

I just installed mythtv in Kubuntu using a package manager. When I run 
mythtv-setup it says myth cannot connect to the DB.

How do I check everything is okay with Mysql?
The installation set everything up but did not tell me what the Mysql 
user was. Is it my own user normally or one called "mythtv"?

I am trying to run Mythtv on a regular desktop system with my user as 
the mythtv user.
