[mythtv-users] state of (questions about) EIT?

I'm wondering what the current state of EIT is?

In particular, I'm curious to know if EIT will replace zap2it, or just
accompany it for additional information?  (i.e. Feeding the OSD with
addition info if provided?)

Also, if the information between zap2it and EIT conflict, which is
trusted?  (If the zap2it schedule is thrown off by a long-running
ballgame, is the EIT schedule more accurate?)

I have two input sources -- one that's standard (non-digital) cable,
and one that's OTA high definition.  From what I understand, EIT won't
work for the non-digital cable -- what are the chances that it's being
broadcast on local channels?  (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS, etc.)

In short, I'm wondering if this is a feature I should attempt to use?
