Just as likely that I mis-interpreted what you were asking, as
opposed to your mis-typing :-)

OK, I see. I'm not sure if you can do that, I suspect the dongle (the
receiver part of it anyway) is just the IR LED, so you would not save
very much by re-purposing it.
But I'm not certain of that, and if anyone knows better we'd all like
to hear I'm sure.
