This is very good advice.  I hear lots of people complaining about
this scam.  I just can't believe that some people actually are willing
to accept a "free domain name registration".  This can only be a scam.
 The possession of the domain is far too critical.  Everything else is
somewhat trivial.  You can change hosting companies as many times as
you must before you find the right match.  (As long as you didn't let
you hosting company register your domain in their name.)

Back in the 90's I was so paranoid of squatters that I wouldn't even
do a whois before trying to register a domain.  I was afraid a
squatter would snoop, and steal the domain before I could pay Internic
the $200.  My how times have changed!  Now the squatters advertise
free domain registration.
