It's definitely mplex that is falling over because the ac3 audio stream 
is corrupted. There's  a couple of other thing you could try. On the 
settings page set the "always run mythtranscode" option. That option 
will always run mythtranscode --mpeg to try to clean up the time codes 
and stuff in the file. If you have a cut list for the file and you set 
mytharchive to use it then mythtranscode will already have been run on 
the file so this option wont help in that case.

The other option is change the  "Always Encode to AC3" option so it is 
not selected. The script will then use the original mp2 audio track in 
that case. The only problem with changing that option is some standalone 
DVD players may have problems playing it. Most, probably all, software 
players like xine wont have any problem playing it.

Is this just one file that is giving you problems or all your 
recordings? It could just be that this file is slightly corrupted and 
the tools we are using aren't smart enough to spot this and carry on 
regardless.
