[mythtv-users] problem getting X to display on TV using EDID

Hello,

I spent all night trying to figure out why I can't get X window to
display on my TV.

In a previous message to this list I read that one can use EDID
information that is read from the TV set to create a matching
Modeline.

I tried videogen, the xtiming.pl script and similar tools to generate
Modelines. Usually, the TV displays "Not supported mode", but the
Xorg log doesn't shows any [EE] or [WW] messages.

Some background: I've bought a Samsung LCD TV (LE32R5) which has a
resolution of 1360x768 at 60Hz according to the manual, and it has HDMI
input. My Mythbox is an Asus Pundit R350 with a ATI 9100 IGP with DVI
output. I connected both with a DVI-HDMI cable and am able to see the
console, unfortunately with some horrible overscan, but anyway. The
machine runs using Debian Sarge and Xorg 6.9.

The EDID output from the Xorg.0.log is (in part)

(II) RADEON(0): EDID data from the display on port 2-----------------------

How can I make a Modeline of this information?
