[mythtv-users] anyone using this Pertelian USB LCD?

Not surprising, given that it is advertised as being Hitachi HD44780,
which is about as plain vanilla as LCDs go. The only issue I am unsure
about given I don't actually have any firsthand experience with
lcdproc is whether it will support a HD44780 over USB; most people
have them hooked up to their PCs through the printer port.

If that issue can be answered, this might be the first <$100 display
that fits at least some of the criteria I mentioned in
<URL:http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/204896#204896>.
Readability from far away is probably not great, though. I also still
wonder whether the display I talk about at
<URL:http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/205268#205268>
would be worth the expense.
