Even given the scenario you describe I would still try and obtain a  
"storage" drive ASAP. Re-furbed 250GB units can be had cheap, though  
I realize that what's "cheap" to me might represent a respectable  
hurdle to somebody else.

I suppose if you went with 512MB RAM instead of 1GB you would save  
just about enough for a 250GB HDD, but I'm not sure if I can in good  
conscience suggest that.
