[mythtv-users] cannot watch livetv

[DG]

'mythtv' works.  i can watch tv and everything.  'mythbackend' crashes
on switch to livetv.  i've tried deleting and readding the cards,
various permutations of logging and recording, and tons of google-ing,
but i can't figure this out.

what's different with the way 'mythtv' accesses IVTV and the way that
'mythfrontend' does it?  both use the backend right?
