I use a 6600 that is capable of component out (Gigabyte). Some of the
manufacturers don't enable the component out on the 6600 so you need to make
sure you buy one that comes with the S-Video to component dongle. I
wouldn't say it is the best solution by any means. NVidia has several
problems with the driver for the componant out. There are some specials
steps to get it to work for 1080i and even then I have bad overscan and
tearing. I tried fixing the overscan with modelines from powerstrip but got
nowhere. Nvidia has recognized the problems and stated that their
developers are working against the problems. If I had to do it again, I
would just buy a 5200 with DVI and VGA and use transcoder to get component.
If I didn't have a TV yet, I would be sure to get one with DVI input so it
is a no brainer to get it going.
