Try launching mplayer from the command line. It will act the same  
from there as when launching it from myth. Once you get it working  
from a shell, use the same command in myth. Keep in mind the mplayer  
binary is in a location like this: /Applications/MPlayer OS X 2.app/ 
Contents/Resources/mplayer.app/Contents/MacOS/mplayer not / 
Applications/MPlayer OS X 2.app/Contents/Resources/mplayer.app
