Chris,

I may not be running MythTV yet, but I have been following this list for the
better part of six months. I have also read the documentation and have been
following the personal sites of several individuals that are having various
degrees of succes with this and other PVR solutions. I am aware that it
splits based on the program guide. I was commenting on the discussion of
splitting long recordings that are NOT chunked in the program guide (
marathon entries, multi-hour music events, etc ). The discussion was
suggesting a feature to allow the user to select automatic splitting in
situations where the program guide does not provide the key data needed. I
was expanding that suggestion to sync that forced split up with real time to
make "cleaner" blocks of recorded data.

I always try to make it a habbit of not assuming anything about the
background, knowledge or skills of anyone else without asking.
