[mythtv-users] HD-3000 analog tuner woes

I've got an HD-3000 and I'd like to use it as my analog tuner as well as
HD, however, it's having a lot of trouble working in many different areas.

I have it configured so that I have two input devices, a generic dvb
tuner and a generic analog tuner. When I start watch tv, it defaults to
the digital tuner. I then press 'Y' to change tuners when I want to
watch analog. Sometimes (50% of the time), this results in a crash of
the backend and the computer becomes completely un-responsive for a
while. The backend log will print:

2006-03-10 21:06:02.020 adding: boron as a client (events: 0)

                        while setting format (v4l v2)
                        eno: Invalid argument (22)
2006-03-10 21:06:02.032 Channel(/dev/video0): SetInputAndFormat(0, ATSC)
Setting video mode with v4l version 1 worked

strange error flushing buffer ...

At this point, the computer is completely locked up. Trying to ssh into
the machine results in
ssh: connect to host mythtv port 22: No route to host
However, after some time (1-2 minutes), it seems to be able to recover.
It will then spit out

VIDIOC_DQBUF: Input/output error
VIDIOC_DQBUF: Input/output error
VIDIOC_DQBUF: Input/output error
2006-03-10 21:06:05.516 TVRec(2): Changing from WatchingLiveTV to None

This leaves the frontend with just a black screen and no audio or video
for a while. Eventually it says, "The connection to the Master Backend
has gone away for some reason... Is it running?" ps -A seems to
indicate that the backend is still running. If I restart the frontend,
it connects to the database but nothing seems to work, navigating takes
a long time, and it will not watch live tv. The backend is probably
dead though, because sudo killall -9 mythbackend does not seem to phase
it (i.e. it doesn't kill it).

The log from the frontend is (after initially pressing 'Y' to switch to
the analog tuner)

2006-03-10 22:11:16.912 Using protocol version 26

This isn't a hardware problem because the analog tuner works fine with
tvtime.

If anyone has any idea what's going on please enlighten me.

Dylan
