[mythtv-users] ivtv0 warning: ENC: REG_DMAXFER 2 wait failed

I know this is probably an IVTV issue and I should probably to take this
up w/ the IVTV list, but I thought I'd at least start here... I'm no
linux guru, but I'm not quite a rookie anymore :) I've been using myth
for ~ 3 yrs and linux for ~7 yrs, and have had some IVTV problems in the
past (mostly b/c I've done something stupid)..

Anyhow, I have a PVR250 in an ASUS A7V880 w/ AMD2500+(barton), 512Mb
RAM, and ~700Gb LVM, PNY NVidia GeForce4 mx440 -- all in my master
backend. I use an XBOX for a frontend. I also have some old PIII's for
slave backends, but at the moment, they are offline as I remodel/finish
my basement.

Master Backend = "athlon_linuxbox" -- AMD2500+Barton, 512Mb PC3200,
~700Gb xfs LVM.
Slave Backend1 = "PIII_450_1" -- Dell Optiplex PIII450, 384Mb, 500Gb
Reiserfs LVM
Slave Backend2 = "PIII_450_2" -- Dell Optiplex PIII450, 384Mb, 1Tb XFS
LVM
Remote Frontend= "xebian" -- Xbox v1.5, 64Mb, 250Gb (hardmodded w/
Xecuter 2.3blite)

I've had some "flakiness" from IVTV before, but that was b/c of wrong
firmware versions. I've since changed my firmware versions, and have
noticed that I don't have nearly the problems I had before. However,
the WAF is quickly falling and I can trace it all back to one single
error message that appears in dmesg:

ivtv0 warning: ENC: REG_DMAXFER 2 wait failed

(sometimes it shows up as:)
ivtv0 warning: ENC: REG_DMAXFER 2 wait failed
ivtv0 warning: DEC: REG_ENCSG1LEN wait failed

As an engineer, I tried to test this as many ways as possible. I've had
the master backend under heavy processor load (nuvexport, transcode,
etc..) and it'll occur. I've also had the master backend under little-
to-no load (all processes were done on other CPUs, not the master
backend's). It doesn't matter. The "video" partition is located on the
master backend's LVM 2Tb array. I've even gone as far as disabling ALL
transcoding&commflagging. I've had masterbackend @ a load of 0.05 0.01
0.00 and it'll STILL happen. Currently, this error occurs about once
every 2-3 days.

I've tried using ONLY the masterbackend (no slaves or remote frontend)
and it STILL happens.

Could this be the whole "VIA chipset" thing?

Here's a dmesg of a "before the crash" state:

I don't really know where to go from here. I'll gladly supply more info
if required. I absolutely LOVE Myth and have been an avid user for
years :)

Thank you very much,
