Sorry--I'm ignoring your issues and providing some feedback because I 
don't have much time now...

Getting recordings to work in MythTV is actually easier than getting 
LiveTV working.  You may want to get them going, first...

Also, just in case, there are 4 profiles for setting your stream 
type--LiveTV, Default, High, Low, Medium...
