Quick rundown. I am running Myth 0.18.1-r2 from Gentoo 2006.0. I get
the following messages when I connect the 6200 to my laptop via the
firewire port.

Mar 11 17:31:27 localhost ieee1394: Node added: ID:BUS[0-00:1023]
GUID[00159aff fe2202dc]
Mar 11 17:31:27 localhost ieee1394: Node changed: 0-00:1023 -> 0-01:1023
Mar 11 17:31:27 localhost ieee1394.agent[7145]: ... no drivers for
IEEE1394 prod uct 0x/0x/0x
Mar 11 17:31:27 localhost ieee1394.agent[7174]: ... no drivers for
IEEE1394 prod uct 0x/0x/0x
Mar 11 17:31:27 localhost ieee1394.agent[7168]: ... no drivers for
IEEE1394 prod uct 0x/0x/0x
Mar 11 17:31:27 localhost ieee1394.agent[7187]: ... no drivers for
IEEE1394 prod uct 0x000000/0x005068/0x010101
Mar 11 17:31:27 localhost ieee1394: raw1394: /dev/raw1394 device
initialized

Plugreport sees the device @ host0, node1 just like is in syslog. I
pretty much folloed the guide @
http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php even though I do not run FC, but
the relevant tests were all run. The test-mpeg2 never captures a frame.
Also, u-dev does work properly and create the device nodes, so I did not
have to follow that portion.

So I was wondering if someone could post the relevant portions of the
kernel that must be enabled (I have compiled it 10 ways from Sunday with
all and minimal options) and tried everything I need to know.

I do not know if it means the firewire is off on the 6200 - I doubt it
since they negotiate. When I start mythbackend, it immediately says No
Motorola DCT 6200 found on the bus.

I no longer have the 6200 in front of me to test, but will be going back
this weekend to try some more. My regular box is running 0.19, and I
believe I read that firewire is non-functional in that version, so I
went back to 0.18 on my laptop since I didn't want to lug my PC across
town.

Is there something I may be overlooking somewhere?

Thanks,

Greg
