Maybe I'm missing something here, but what does a cable card have to do
with the firewire output?  Cablecard is for when you plug the coax cable
right into your TV to allow the circuitry in the TV to do the
decryption.  The firewire out would be after the cable box (fios box in
this case) has already done the decrypt.
