Hi,
I've had MythTV 0.19 working for some time. For the first time ever I
used the ATRPMS distribution rather than building from scratch. It
worked first time and has been pretty good ever since. Kudos to
everybody there.
I'm trying to get transcodes to work and am hitting a brick wall. I've
been using mythtv since about 0.14 says and never, ever got transcode to
work. However I thought this time with the atrpms it would work, nope,
nothing doing.
I'm trying to convert a DVB recording into something smaller. Anything
will do for now, just something smaller. I queue it up in mythtv but
just get an error message in the logs saying unknown video codec.

Now searching through Google for Transcode DVB codec produces lots of
hits but little useful information. Not sure where to go from here. I
was a little surprised at the lack of info on google.
I think my problem is that transcode simply has no idea how to use the
video stream, which would indicate that further codecs are required. But
for the life of me I don;t know what ones.
Any advice, help or pointers to where to go much appreciated.
Rob
