Hey Mike,

Is the `test-mpeg2` program working? It's obvious you have output via
firewire from your sa3250hd but can your computer get that data from it on
Mandriva? I too have TWC but in Southern California. I have SA3250HD via
firewire working nicely as well. But first things first, before you worry
about mythtv and recording via firewire make sure you are able to capture
the mpeg2 stream using the test-mpeg2 program that comes with I believe
raw1394 library. Also you should read the release notes on newer versions of
mythtv that improve firewire recording by setting buffer limits(both
ringbuffer and firewire buffer) as it may be something you'll need to look
into after getting test-mpeg2 working.
