Thanks guys, someone offered a G3 for $50 but if it won't do the job there
is no point

I don't know of any.  I don't believe it would be viable performance wise. 
For some reason Myth has always run slow for me through OSX, My Imac G5 1.6 
is barely fast enough, there are still some dropped frames watching dvb 
captured mpeg2's 544x480.  Even on a dual intel 2.8 Hackintosh there are 
still some dropped frames although it mostly very good.
