I'm fairly new to MythTV and still learning the ins and outs of the
system, so I'm kind of hesitant to dispute anybody.  However, I'm not
sure your explanation here is exactly correct.  I just went through a
similar setup with PVR-150 and HD-3000 tuners cards.  What I found was
that if the CALLSIGN field was the same for two channel numbers MythTV
considered them the same channel.  So, in this example if both 601 and
6 had the CALLSIGN field set to "FOX" MythTV would use the default
tuner.

If I am wrong here someone feel free to correct me.  I don't want to
be spreading an disinformation.
