[mythtv-users] really crappy myth audio

My myth tv veiwing has really crappy audio that is covered up by a lot of static
I tried runing xaw tv, muting the line in and then runing aplay /dev/dsp and the audio was much improved in xawtv but in myth it still sound really bad. How can i improve it
