IMHO, the best way is to record all your callsigns (i.e. print out a
copy of the channel editor page in MythWeb), Delete All video sources
(with the Delete All button--otherwise, deleting them is useless), and
the recreate video sources, re-connect inputs, and re-create channels
(with mythfilldatabase). Then, verify that the callsigns for the
channels haven't changed. (That last step is only necessary if you have
any "this channel" type recordings.)
There are other ways, but this approach should give you a clean database
without "ghost" channels that prevent recordings and should prevent the
occasional typo as you try to manually key in freqid's for the channels.
