Now that I saw the end of the subject line, it sounds like you're 
playing 32kHz audio at 48kHz, which means you have a bad ALSA 
configuration.  Make sure you're running ALSA 1.0.9+ and delete any 
~/.asoundrc or /etc/asound.conf you have and set Myth to use 
ALSA:default (or /dev/dsp).
