Modeline "1920x1080" 140.09 1920 1980 2016 2096 1080 1082 1087
1115 +HSync -VSync

works on a Samsung HL-R6768w, which means it's probably useless elsewhere...

But, note that if you're unable to get anything besides "720" (whatever
that means), it's likely a problem with some other setting in your X
config file (such as monitor specs, like frequencies) causing X to
disregard your modeline out of hand. Some of the most common causes of
ignoring modelines are:

(II) NV(0): Not using default mode "1280x720" (hsync out of range)
(II) NV(0): Not using default mode "1280x1024" (bad mode
clock/interlace/doublescan)
(II) NV(0): Not using default mode "1920x1280" (width too large for
virtual size)

As I said before, knowing what to change is /only/ possible by using the
error/warning messages in the X log file, as above.
