[mythtv-users] An option for watching tv

I am not tieing up the capture card. I wanna watch the tv in a window on my computer which is nowhere near the physical tv. I occasionally want to record a show as well. So, I am not sure if I understand what you mean.

what is wrong with a tv mode which plays from card and RAM only? no disk involved. As long as its optional, I don't see a problem.

Why would you want to tie up a capture card if you are not  
"capturing" ? Just feed a different input of your TV with the live  
feed, or buy an external switch if your set doesn't have a spare input.

That way the capture card is available to record something else while  
you are watching, and the quality would be a tad better.
