Yes, it is suitable for basic functionality.  I run a frontend on a
1Ghz iBook under Mac OS, and it works well.  Some features, like fast
forward/rewind and timestretch, don't work, but the ability to alt-tab
between iTunes and Myth makes it worthwhile.
