I have this book and have pretty much read through the whole thing. It
is very helpful for a semi-experienced linux/unix guy to be able to
install MythTV and get everything to work properly... provided you use
the same hardware that they cover (i.e. nvidia video cards, Hauppauge
pvr cards, etc.). I still think it could use some editing in some areas
because even for a relatively experienced "tinkerer" like myself, it was
still somewhat a challenge to finally get everything working.

It is definitely a great resource to have especially when you are
installing from scratch and don't want to turn to the Internet every few
minutes to look something up.
