I have Slow Delete enabled, and still get short pauses while an expiry
runs, especially if there are lots of small expires, as happens when I am
24 hours past a bout of channel-flipping. I guess I have a slow drive - it
is a cheap consumer-grade one. It was just an idea to make recording and
expiring less collide-able and let my disk focus on one or the other,
taking advantage of my (narrow) viewing habits.
