I suppose any of these three are possible. I have tested the drives with
the manufacturer's utilities and they tested ok.

These are also possible, but I believe most of my problems started after
upgrading to FC5 from FC3. I don't believe it's a capturing issue,
because it has locked up at times when not recording. Has also locked up
when watching videos/recordings over NFS using mediamvp and when using a
frontend on another machine. 

Does the error above point to anything or is it too generic?
