I almost skipped over this entire thread due to the awful
quoting, however...

Why?

Cpu(s): 53.1% us,  3.3% sy,  0.0% ni, 42.9% id,  0.7% wa,
0.0% hi,  0.0% si

User, System, Nice, Idle, I/O Waiting, Hardware int,
Software int.

And as another datapoint, I see no problems on my Geode
running at 800Mhz.

If you're concerned, I would suggest compiling with:
configure --compile-type=profile <rest of your normal
options here>, then reading up about oprofile.
