[mythtv-users] mtd unable to create directory

Answering my own question.  As it turned out, the problem happened
because of a previously cancelled rip of the same DVD that happened to
create but not clean up directories in the temp working directory for
mtd.  Sorry for the wasted electron stream.

However, shouldn't mtd deal with such a situation in a more graceful manner?
