When I was doing my research I noticed that the "User Experiences"
section of the MythTV wiki article on the PVR500 indicated that the
quality was noticably lower than that of the 250.

I'll never know, because the case I chose needs low-profile cards, e.g.
the PVR-150 LP, but it was something that would have influenced my
decision had I been able to use the 250 or 500.
