[mythtv-users] Out with the .old?

This seems wrong -- is there something I should be doing differently?

I found 33GB of .mpg.old files in my recordings directory, with file names
like 1110_20060911212000.mpg.old.  These are recordings I have transcoded,
either to a lower quality setting, or lossless MPEG2 after building a
cutlist, in the past week (19-23 September).  Needless to say, this saved me
a lot of disk space, and my older recordings are no longer getting whacked
by autoexpire.  However, I wish I'd known that I need to clean up this
directory before losing recordings.

Does mythtranscode clean up after itself?  Is there a setting somewhere to
force this cleanup?  Do I just need to RTFM?  8^)
