The Plextor works great. Just be aware that there are some  
limitations when using mpeg-4, such as you can't use a Media-mpv and  
burning to DVD means transcoding to mpeg-2 first.

I record to mpeg-2 using PVRs and transcode long-term storage to  
mpeg-4 after the fact.
