FWIW, there is a frontend for Mac OS X which works great, I have run 
it on a 1.2 GHz G4 and a 2 GHz Intel iMac. It will not run on a 400 
MHz G3.  So I can use my Mac as a frontend for viewing, and I use an 
old 1 GHz Pentium 3 Dell as the backend. At some point I may get a 
NTSC video output for the Dell and use it for viewing as well, 
connected to a television.
