with it. MythTV is a GPL licensed suite of programs that allow you to
build the mythical home media convergence box on your own using Open
Source software and operating systems. MythTV is known to work on Linux
and Mac OS X (PowerPC and Intel). It does not run on Windows. Jarod
discusses MythTV's capabilities, answers questions, and demos a full
MythTV setup on a Shuttle PC with a mix of SDTV and HDTV pre-recorded
content.

About Boston Linux & Unix
Boston Linux & Unix (BLU) is a non-profit trade organization; our mission
is to educate about and advocate for Open Source, Free Software ("free
speech" not "free beer"), and Open Systems, such as Linux, Unix, and
freely-redistributable software. Membership in BLU is free, and our
monthly user group meetings are open to the public. Information and
announcements are posted on our web server as the primary information
source; announcements are then further disseminated from there to other
distribution channels such as our mailing lists. Most of our meetings are
held on the M.I.T. campus. Our group has been meeting since April 1994. We
formed our group as part of The Boston Computer Society (BCS); when the
overall BCS organization dissolved itself, we chose to continue on as an
independent user group.
Boston Linux & Unix operates several Mailman mailing lists. the primary
ones are discuss at blu.org (discussion list) and announce at blu.org (event
announcements). To subscribe, send an email to majordomo at blu.org, with a
body of "subscribe discuss" or "subscribe announce".
See http://www.blu.org for more information.
