I actually have the backend and frontend on one box in the lounge
which is connected to the rest of the network via a wirless access
point using 80211.g. I get about 20 mega bit out of the wireless lan
(because of walls).

I am able to run a separate mythfrontend on a machine on the wired
network, which connects to the backend via the wireless access point.
That works perfectly fine as long as you don't try to use the wireless
network too much at the same time.
