And the 15K drive will be noisier, use more power, and create more heat
than a slower drive.

I suppose if you're recording multiple HD streams the added speed
*might* be useful, but a lot of people are using ordinary 7200 rpm
desktop drives.

Google's big hard disk study refers to differences in reliability
between brands but is coy about actually naming names.  In home use my
drives almost always outlive their usefulness regardless of brand.
